Kvarnskolan is a secondary school within walking distance from Jakobsberg's center. We have just over 370 students, more than 50 staff, and our own kitchen.

As a special education teacher with us, you will work closely with students, teachers, and the student health team to provide support and adapted teaching in Swedish.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a special education teacher in Swedish, you will support students in need of special support to develop their language, reading, and writing skills. The work involves identifying students' difficulties, planning and implementing adapted teaching, and following up on their development.

You are responsible for mapping students' knowledge levels through observations, tests, and pedagogical assessments. Based on this, you plan individual interventions and work both individually with students, in smaller groups, and as support in the classroom environment. An important part of the work is to strengthen students' reading comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, writing strategies, and study techniques.

The special education teacher collaborates closely with classroom teachers, student health, and guardians to create a comprehensive picture of the student's needs. You contribute with guidance and pedagogical strategies to colleagues and participate in the work with extra adaptations and action programs.

The assignment also includes developing inclusive learning environments, adapting materials, and using alternative tools such as digital aids to facilitate students' learning. Documentation, follow-up, and evaluation of interventions are a continuous part of the work.

The goal is to give students increased self-confidence, better conditions to achieve knowledge goals, and a positive experience of their learning in Swedish.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Special education degree with a focus on Swedish, language, reading, and writing development, or equivalent education
• Teaching certification with the authority to teach Swedish
• Experience working with students in need of special support
• Good knowledge of reading and writing difficulties, such as dyslexia and language impairment
• Ability to map, analyze, and plan individual pedagogical interventions
• Experience working with extra adaptations and action programs
• Good collaboration skills and experience mentoring colleagues
• Ability to create inclusive and accessible learning environments
• Experience with digital tools and alternative learning tools as support in teaching
• Good documentation and communication skills
• Experience leading and participating in the school's systematic quality work
• Qualification in Swedish as a second language is an asset
